AI start-up now part of DocuWare
In April, DocuWare laid the foundation for increased use of artificial intelligence by acquiring natif.ai. The company, one of Germany’s most innovative AI startups, is focused on document-based AI applications. The acquisition enabled the rapid development of DocuWare’s Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) features. The topic will continue to be relevant in coming years and serves as a perfect transition to the outlook for 2025.
Important aspects for 2025
Artificial intelligence
The topic of AI is omnipresent, with companies around the world benefiting from the new possibilities. DocuWare has been using these technologies for Intelligent Indexing for some time and is now taking it a significant step further with Intelligent Document Processing. AI-supported batch scans are separated into separate documents, documents are classified, and important content/data can even be extracted from handwritten text. As a result, the automation of document processing can be significantly increased. You can learn more about the possibilities of intelligent document processing on our website. Plus, we’ll shortly be providing more detailed information and application scenarios here on the product blog.
With AI, it’s important that questions of ethics and data protection aren’t forgotten. DocuWare's attitude is that the highest level of customer trust can only be achieved through maximum transparency in data processing. For this reason, we’ve prepared a white paper on AI-based data processing with DocuWare, which provides all the key information. Additionally, the blog post Ethical AI solutions that add real value outlines the ethical standards we follow when using AI.
E-invoices
The topic of e-invoicing is gaining momentum, and not just in specfic countries. It’s increasingly required at European and international levels. E-invoice platforms, used to exchange e-invoices, and e-reporting, (electronic submission of invoice data to tax authorities), are also becoming increasingly important.
DocuWare already supports you in various scenarios, including the receipt of e-invoices by email and subsequent automatic processing. In future this will also include connecting to e-invoicing platforms such as PEPPOL.
The benefits of DocuWare for you: During the transition phase, all invoice formats, i.e. e-invoices, PDF and scanned paper invoices, are available in a single system and all invoices are processed via the same workflows. In addition, the DocuWare Viewer displays XML-based e-invoices as readable “normal” invoices. You can even use the Viewer tools for markups and annotations.
