DocuWare offers shortcuts in all areas: in the tray, in search and filing dialogs, in result lists and in the viewer.  Here are a few favorites that can significantly enhance productivity.

Quickly enter dates

[x] is the most commonly used keyboard shortcut in DocuWare, so you can enter the current date. Whether in filing or search dialogs, it doesn't get any faster than that. You can use the [+] and [–] keys to move forward or backward on a day-by-day basis. If you want to enter the date from the previous day, you only need two clicks: [x] [-] – and you're done.

Search for documents and data

To get to the "Search" area in the menu bar, you can use the keyboard shortcut [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [2].

Press the [Enter] key to open the list of search dialogs. Use the arrow keys up, down, right and left to navigate through the list, and [Enter] to open the corresponding search dialog.

In the search dialog, switch from line to row with [Tab] and enter the search terms there.

With [Shift] + [Tab] you can jump backwards, i.e. from bottom to top. [Enter] displays the list of results as soon as all search terms have been entered.

View and review documents intuitively

In the results list, navigate from top to bottom with the arrow keys. The active document is highlighted in gray.

Not the right document? With [Escape] you can return to the search dialog and enter search terms again.

Click [Enter] to open the selected document in the viewer. The zoom level can be adjusted with [+] and [-]. To change an index entry, use [Alt] + [Ctrl] + [I] to load the index dialog.

Navigation in the index dialog is similar to that in the search dialog. With [Tab] you jump from row to line, the arrow key down opens the selection list, etc. [Enter] saves and closes the dialog.

Edit documents with ease

Want to make changes to a document? No problem! Just press the combination [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Space], and you're good to go!

Print documents to PDF seamlessly

Ready to print? Start by effortlessly converting your document to PDF. Use the [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [P] shortcut to instantly generate a PDF which not only saves time but, ensures your document is print-ready with minimal effort.
