Custom settings made easy
Whether you're just getting started or have been working with DocuWare for some time, "Profile & Settings" in your DocuWare Client lets you do much more than just change the user language or update your password. You can also show and hide file dialogs, searches, lists and forms as needed, change their order or customize the tools in the Viewer to suit your needs.
To do this, open "Profile & Settings" via the drop-down menu under your user name. There are several tabs where you can make custom changes to improve usability and clarity. You don't need to be an administrator to do this. In general, you'll only see the tabs and items for which you have permissions. Any changes you make will only affect your personal client.
Set startup view, language and number formats
Under the "General" tab, you can define the startup view that opens after you log in (by default, this is always the one you last worked in). You can also change the language that DocuWare uses, with 24 options available, and adjust the display of date, time and numbers according to your preferred formatting.
Try it out:
Change password and check security settings
Under the Security tab, you can change your password and see which configurations and applications are using your DocuWare account.

Show and hide document trays and store dialogs
Under "Document trays" you can see all the document trays and store dialogs that are available to you. Too many and you don't need them all? Click on the eye icon to hide the ones you don't want. You can also easily reorder the elements in the menu using drag-and-drop. You can also configure a new document tray from this tab.
Get tips for this:
Display search dialogs and results lists as required
Under the "Searches" tab, you can show and hide search dialogs and reorder them as needed. You can also set which columns or index fields appear in the corresponding results lists.
Here’s how:
Sort lists, folders and forms
The same options are also available for your lists, folders and forms: Use drag and drop to change the order and click on the eye icon to hide or show them.
Customize the viewer and toolbars
Do you want the DocuWare Viewer to open in a new window – for example, when you’re working with two monitors? You can activate this with one click in the "Viewer" tab.
You can also make many adjustments to the tools available in the viewer. For instance, instead of having a single toolbar on the left, you can add a second on the right and arrange the tool options in the way that’s clearest and most practical for you. You can also define which tools are visible – not all of them are shown by default. In this way, you can, for example, show additional annotation layers or deactivate tools that you never use.
