The latest update for the web-based Workflow Designer is now available for DocuWare Partners and will be released to customers very soon. It is included in all Cloud organizations running DocuWare version 7.12. This update offers the complete feature set, marking a significant milestone in the application’s development.
The open beta phase for the new web-based Workflow Designer has reached the next level: all planned features are now included, bringing the application to its full functional state. The limitations present in the initial version have been removed.
Please note: You can still only create and run new workflows in the web-based Workflow Designer. Migration of workflows from the Workflow Designer desktop app is not yet supported.
New user interface
The Workflow Designer dashboard provides an overview of all workflows within your organization related to different file cabinets.
This is the canvas of the new workflow designer where you can easily define your processes.
Access for Partners
The updated web-based Workflow Designer is included in all DocuWare Cloud Partner accounts as soon as they are updated to the latest DocuWare version 7.12. The Workflow Designer can be accessed directly within DocuWare configuration, in the “Collaboration” section.
To test and get familiar with the new Workflow Designer, we encourage you to register for an early update of your Cloud organization. Simply open a support ticket, mentioning your request and your DocuWare Organization name.
Your feedback is appreciated
Please continue to actively use the application and share feedback via the integrated form to support final preparations ahead of the public release.
Access for customers
Starting June 16, the open beta phase will be extended to customers. The web-based Workflow Designer will be included in all DocuWare Cloud organizations that are updated to the latest DocuWare version 7.12. All users who have been granted the functional right “Design Workflows” will be able to access and use the application.
Next release steps:
- The official release—which will also include migration support for workflows designed in the former Workflow Designer desktop app—will be available for DocuWare Cloud with version 7.13 (Fall 2025).
- For on-premises systems, the web-based Workflow Designer is planned to be part of the following release in Spring 2026.
