We hereby announce that DocuWare has decided to sunset the Process Planner, effective after October 31, 2025. Introduced in 2019, the Process Planner was designed as an ultra-simple, free tool for basic process mapping. We have decided to sunset the tool to focus on and strengthen our core product portfolio.

Sunset Timeline and Key Dates
These are the planned steps for the discontinuation of Process Planner and the related communication (individual dates are subject to change):
- September 15, 2025: New user signups will be disabled.
- September 17, 2025: DocuWare customers will be informed about the sunset via the UserInfo newsletter.
- September 25, 2025: A special mailing to all Process Planner users will inform them about the sunset and the export options for their process maps. This is in accordance with the Process Planner terms of service. In addition, an in-product banner will announce the end-of-life date.
- October 7, 2025: Reminder mailing to all Process Planner users.
- November 1, 2025: The tool will be officially shut down. Access to the Process Planner will be discontinued.
- December 1, 2025: All process and user data will be deleted.
How to export process maps
To export a process map, open the map and use the export button in the upper right corner. You can select between XML, PDF or image as format.
We acknowledge that this sunset may impact your or your clients’ current operations. As alternatives, several tools are available in the market which offer robust and user-friendly process mapping capabilities. Some of them are free, some license-based.
