Announcement - Security change in Chrome browser

Product news

Impact on Desktop Apps
Due to a security change in the Google Chrome Browser (version 92), only encrypted communication via HTTPS will be possible with DocuWare Desktop Apps starting July 2021.

In a DocuWare environment, this means that certain components will no longer work should you only use HTTP as a protocol. This includes:

  • DocuWare features - Smart Connect, Edit & Send
  • Calling up the Scan App from the DocuWare Web Client
  • Configuration of Smart Connect and document processing (scanner, folder, printer)

What you can do
You have two options as a work around…switch from HTTP to HTTPS or you can disable the Chrome feature by setting the "Block insecure private network requests" setting to "Disabled" on the chrome://flags/ configuration page.

Tip: translate it

Maybe you’d rather read this article in your native tongue than in English? No problem! Your browser can handle the translation work. Learn how
