Your DocuWare version
To find out which DocuWare version you are using, open the DocuWare Web Client and go to "Help & Info" > "About DocuWare". Here, you will find your version number. Only the first two number blocks are relevant, e.g. 7.11.

DocuWare Maintenance and Support agreement
As a DocuWare On-Premises customer, you initially concluded a maintenance and support agreement, which renews automatically each year. This ensures that, in addition to support from the DocuWare team, you always have access to the latest DocuWare versions as free downloads.
If your subscription has expired, you can reactivate it for a fee.
DocuWare Support Lifecycle Policy
DocuWare provides support for 3 years from the release of a DocuWare version. The DocuWare support team answers questions about configuration, helps with troubleshooting and provides hotfixes and minor updates so that you can work with DocuWare in the most efficient way and without issues or error messages. Support for DocuWare Version 7.6 is available until the end of May 2025, for Version 7.7 until the end of October 2025. Version 7.7 is also required as a minimum if you want to upgrade directly to the upcoming Version 7.12, planned for May 2025.
Planning your update
Each DocuWare system is individually tailored to the customer's needs and integrated into their system environment. There are, therefore, no universal update instructions. We recommend that you contact your authorized DocuWare Partner or your DocuWare representative. They will advise you individually, both on the update options and on the advantages that the new features offer you.
