We are excited to announce the release of the new DocuWare app. It’s positioned as a companion app that reimagines how DocuWare empowers users through mobile access and focuses on mobile-specific, on-the-go use cases. The new app is already available in the stores and can be used by all DocuWare Cloud customers.
Why a new DocuWare app?
As mobile work becomes the standard, our customers expect fast, intuitive tools that enable them to achieve more — anytime, anywhere.
By prioritizing user-centric design, enhanced task management, feedback-driven development, and a future-ready architecture, this app delivers a smooth, modern, and reliable experience on mobile devices. It focuses on mobile-specific, on-the-go use cases, simplifying every interaction — from viewing and approving documents to completing workflow tasks in just a few taps.
Key features in the new app

Document search: Quickly find documents while on the go and share them through other apps; perfect for sales teams or field staff who need instant access to customer records, contracts, or invoices.

Robust task management: Access and manage all assigned tasks, organized by workflow. This helps customers keep processes moving, even outside the office.

Push notifications for tasks: With DocuWare version 7.14, users receive instant task notifications, ensuring faster response times and improved process throughput.

File import: Add documents to DocuWare directly from other mobile apps, making it easier to capture and store information immediately on site.

Efficient navigation: Simple tabs allow users to switch between tasks and related documents without losing context — a major productivity boost for multitasking.
Availability in the stores
The new app is simply called “DocuWare”. The current app was therefore renamed to “DocuWare Classic”. Please follow the links to get the new app: App Store (iOS) | Google Play (Android)
Support for on-premises
At this point in time the new app will only work with cloud systems. Support for on-premises organizations (with DocuWare versions 7.9 and higher) will follow in fall of 2026. Customers who are still using older versions than 7.9 should be encouraged to update to a newer version of DocuWare to ensure they also benefit from the new app experience. Please also have in mind that versions older than 7.9 are not covered by the DocuWare Support anymore (see the DocuWare Support Lifecycle Policy)
Current DocuWare app
The current app, now called “DocuWare Classic”, will stay in the stores in its current state but will no longer be actively maintained.
Important:
Since the app will now only be available as a legacy version, no bug fixes will be released in the event of updates from Google or Apple that could cause issues within the app. This could become relevant with the release of iOS 27 in September 2026 which may affect the user interface.
We recommend not updating to iOS 27 if you intend to continue using the DocuWare Classic app.
