Change is in the air — so we wanted to keep you in the loop about a significant shift concerning our VM Demo environments.
his change comes as a result of very low usage of VM Demo environments among our Partners. By sunsetting this offering, we can refocus our efforts on creating and enhancing new demo scenarios in the Cloud — ensuring you have access to innovative, up-to-date tools that better meet your needs and the demands of your customers.
Here’s everything you need to know regarding the discontinuation of VM Demo environments, so you can stay ahead and continue catering to your clients.
VM Demo Environments: Discontinuation after version 7.14
Starting with the release of DocuWare version 7.14, we will be discontinuing production and support for new and existing VM Demo environments. This means that HyperV Demos will no longer be available to download in the Academy System (LMS) after this milestone. Our goal is to simplify processes and focus resources on the most impactful demo solutions that drive partner success.
As an alternative, we encourage you to use the DocuWare Cloud Trial for your demonstration scenarios. The Cloud Trial ensures access to the latest features and provides a modern, flexible environment for showcasing DocuWare’s capabilities to your customers.
Access to VM demo environments until version 7.14
Not to worry! VM Demo environments remain available for download in the LMS until May 2026. We recommend you take advantage of this window if you need to grab the latest versions for your internal work or client presentations.
Keep your VM up-to-date: Installation files still available
Do you rely on a VM for demonstrations? You can continue to update your existing VM with the most current DocuWare installation files, which will remain available via My Business. To keep your VM functioning, simply request the Peters Engineering license from our orders team (EMEA: orders@docuware.com / Americas: dworders@docuware.com).
Please note, however, that some new DocuWare features may not be fully compatible with VM setups due to technical requirements or architectural changes. In cases where certain features cannot be implemented, we regret that we are unable to offer additional support or workarounds.
