DocuWare Academy VM news and training updates

DocuWare Academy

Peters Engineering VMs only for Hyper-V beginning January 1, 2025

Beginning January 2025, the VMs will only be provided as Hyper-V.
This applies to the presentation, technical and training VMs.

As before, you can download the latest version of the VMs from the LMS under “VM”. You will also find instructions there for setting up the Peters Engineering VM on your PC.

Feel free to try out the Hyper-V version today.
If you have problems setting it up, please contact your IT department for support.
If you experience any problems within the Peters Engineering VM, please write to trainingcenter@docuware.com and include screenshots of the error messages.

Hyper-V has better performance, is included in Microsoft Windows licenses (any 64-bit Windows Pro, Enterprise, or Education license), and supports Intelligent Indexing V2.

Changing the DSC Basic Certification from classroom training to self-study

Starting in June 2024, the DSC (technical) classroom training courses will be replaced step by step by a self-study program.

This model offers you complete flexibility in terms of timing, duration, and learning speed. There is no longer any dependence on available course places.

The English DSC online course has been available for self-booking in the LMS catalog since the beginning of June 2024. It’s already being widely used, not just by English-speaking Partners. Meanwhile, the first participants have completed the program and earned their DSC Basic certification.

Other language release dates:

  • Release German: End of September 2024
  • Release French: November 2024
  • Release Spanish: December 2024

With the release of the online courses, DSC Basic Training classroom course dates are no longer available except for the certification in Italian which will be conducted via in-person appointments until further notice.

The program offers interactive presentations of application examples, theory on configuring a DocuWare system, videos, and exercises. As in the classroom training, to receive certification, you must:

  • complete all the configuration exercises,
  • take and pass an online exam,
  • submit the configurations (at the end of the course),
  • hear back from the Academy Team on their evaluation of your submitted configurations to see if they function sufficiently.

Further details on how the program is implemented can be found in the course description of the learning path within the LMS.
