Workflow Forms: Embedding Links to Other Applications

Workflow: Embedding Links in Forms to Other Applications

Workflow: Embedding Links in Forms to Other ApplicationsWhen you work with task forms, you can shorten your processes by linking directly to other applications or files. For example, with a workflow for incoming invoices, you can create a link to the booking dialog from your ERP or to a list of cost centers.

Add links to other applications or files to your workflow forms. This is ideal for adding background information to better explain a task. This in turn helps your employees perform these tasks even faster. And forms become more transparent to all parties involved.
How to Add Links and Descriptions

In Workflow Designer, open a form you’d like to enhance - Task > Decisions > Form.

Provide a name for the form field and as Type choose either Link or Description. If you choose Link, you can add the link without any additional text.

The link in the task connects anyone working on the task directly to another application or file – in our example, they are directed to a list of cost centers. The description included makes clear what else they need to do:

Links and descriptions can be included in task forms starting with DocuWare version 6.11. If you want to link to a booking dialog in your ERP, your ERP must have the option to provide links via URL.
