Microsoft changes webhook functionality in Teams

Microsoft changes webhook functionality in Teams

Microsoft announces that it will change its webhook functionality in Microsoft Teams on February 1, 2025.  If you use this to post messages about documents in DocuWare in Microsoft Teams, adjustments are necessary. Find out what to do.

What exactly is Microsoft changing?

Using webhooks, it is possible to post messages to Microsoft Teams from third-party applications. Microsoft is now changing the URL structure for such webhook-based integrations to Microsoft Teams. Previously used URLs must be updated by January 31, 2025 for connectors to continue posting messages to Teams.

Which DocuWare customers need to take action?

DocuWare customers who send data from DocuWare to Microsoft Teams via webhook are affected by this and should adjust their webhooks accordingly beforehand. You’ll be happy to know that the DocuWare workflow notifications that are displayed in Teams are not affected by the change.

What needs to be done?

Microsoft has published a Developer Blog article entitled Retirement of Office 365 connectors within Microsoft Teams, which describes the planned changes in detail, including the steps required to switch to current webhooks.
