5 features to improve the storage process
- You can easily switch between manual and configuration-based storage at any time via the App settings under the “Store Locations” category. Configuration-based storing refers to the “Outlook Email” configurations you have in place for usage with the Connect to Outlook Desktop App.
- On a dedicated page for configuration-based storing, you can choose from available manual storage “Outlook Email” configurations, including their options and attachment filters managed at the configuration level.
- You can also select the desired “Outlook Email” configuration on the “Send and Store” page while composing an outbound email. This allows having a single-click archiving of sent emails according to predefined settings defined in the “Outlook Email” configuration.
- Automatic storing of sent emails to a preselected “Outlook Email” configuration. Both “Send and Store” and “Automatically store all emails” settings require to be enabled, with no user interaction required once configured.
- The expanded support for DocuWare Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) configurations in cloud environments enables you to store emails in file cabinets via IDP with new visual cues and automated processing flows.

It’s now possible to use manual storage “Outlook Email” configurations in the DocuWare Add-in for Microsoft Outlook. DocuWare for Outlook automatically detects the email body and attachments that match the selected storage configuration. Files that do not meet the predefined storage criteria - for example, file type or file size - are automatically hidden.
User guidance and user experience
The new version also includes enhanced user guidance in Outlook configuration web client user interface, with dynamic info banners clearly indicating which features and configurations from Connect to Outlook are compatible with the DocuWare Outlook Add-in, and providing real-time feedback based on settings adjustments.

Introduction of a landing page after login, guiding users to select their preferred storage method (manual or configuration-based) and a setting allowing users to switch at any time.
Availability
All the cloud customers using the DocuWare for Outlook Add-in will have access to this version by the end of April 2026. The new features will also become available to DocuWare on-premises customers with DocuWare versions 7.14 and 7.13 versions shortly after the cloud release.
