The virtual 2021 DocuWorld Americas Partner and User Conferences took place from May 4 to May 7. We brought 712 DocuWare Partners and 389 customers from more than 55 countries together in a collaborative online space. Although we couldn’t meet face to face, the conferences were structured to make sure there was plenty of time for attendees to share ideas and interact.
Once attendees entered the conference platform, they had full access to a virtual auditorium, an exhibit hall and a product feedback lounge staffed by DocuWare product, user experience and customer success team members. In addition, there were online user, administrator, sales and technical training sessions. The Partner conference featured a virtual networking space where attendees exchanged ideas informally with each other and with DocuWare staff.
Bringing an online experience to life
Holding a virtual conference that mirrors the energy of a live event takes some doing. The response from DocuWare Partners and customers is proof positive that our efforts were a success.
The User Conference is an educational experience designed for DocuWare users of all skill sets. It’s a chance for them to gain a better understanding of real-world applications that will help them make the most of our solution.
A user who attended a session on DocuWare for Invoice Processing commented that “It was great to see the automation with the vendor onboarding form, and just how easy it is to make any changes. I am amazed at how much DocuWare can do and how little it's being used within our company.”
The Partner sessions, which are part of the recertification process for the sales and technical staff at Authorized DocuWare Partners, keep our resellers up to date on new product features so they can better serve their customers.
A Partner who attended a session on how DocuWare supports compliance said, “The presenter did an excellent job of explaining how DocuWare can simplify regulatory compliance and provided numerous examples. His personality really came across and my attention never wavered.”
Attendees took a well-earned break on a virtual visit to the Angry Orchard Innovation Cider House. It was a great opportunity to tour the facility, learn first-hand how cider is made and how to enjoy the different flavors as well as to pair them with their favorite foods.
Business insight from DocuWare leadership
Getting the perspective of DocuWare’s top executives is always a DocuWorld high point. Presidents of the DocuWare Group, Dr. Michael Berger and Max Ertl presented the keynotes. In his presentation, "Digital Transformation and DocuWare," Ertl, who oversees Sales & Marketing, did a deep dive into the reasons why digitization is gaining momentum in the market and discussed how the pandemic has further accelerated this pace.
Dr. Berger, who leads the Product, Services and Finance teams noted that "Cloud first" continues to drive the company's strategy. He reported on last year's growth – which was especially significant in the cloud. The figures for the past fiscal year prove that DocuWare is on the right track: 74% of new companies that opted for DocuWare in 2020 were cloud-based.
Both Partners and customers mentioned that they appreciated the chance to hear from VP of Product Stefan Schmidt who shared an insider’s look at the new features in DocuWare version 7.4 and a product roadmap of what’s to come.
In the exhibit hall, attendees visited sponsor booths to see their products and services and find out how these solutions can work in tandem with DocuWare systems. Exhibitors included Epson, Big Sky Systems, Objectif Lune, Document Logistics, Artsyl Technologies, Ricoh USA, Ambir Technology, EzeScan and Validated ID.
We’re delighted that DocuWorld 2021 enabled our Partners, customers and the DocuWare team to collaborate so successfully. We look forward to getting together in person for DocuWorld 2022 which will be held from May 16-20 at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, Florida.
