DocuWare was among the 100+ vendors and solution providers and approximately 1,000 attendees at the ACCOUNTEX USA conference in Boston last week. Participants included accountants, CFOs, controllers, and other finance executives from all over the U.S. These accounting professionals use the knowledge they gain from educational sessions and talking with solution providers who exhibit at the conference to develop business strategies that support continuing growth.
Educational sessions explored skills-building topics such as leading a remote workforce, improving cash flow, fraud prevention, and sales and use tax concepts. In addition, sessions covered technology-related content including how accounting firms can use technology to reduce costs, improving customer satisfaction with an automated experience, and how automation frees up time to pursue new business. Another session explored how “future tech” is already reshaping our everyday lives.
Traffic was brisk at the DocuWare booth. Solution Architect Bob Mutarelli was busy demonstrating the features of one of our preconfigured, cloud-based solutions, DocuWare for Invoice Processing. His presentation focused on the solution’s workflow capabilities. He showed how digital workflow enables tracking an invoice at every stage of the process life cycle.
DocuWare was also one of the companies featured in a walking tour. Attendees signed up to visit exhibitors that were particularly interesting to them. Senior Regional Sales Director John Keenan offered four minutes of face time: introducing DocuWare and our products. This was a great opportunity to engage with an audience that was already curious about our solutions!

Solution Manager Jo Ann Kreidel, who attended a session on how fraud is affecting the accounting industry presented by Dawn W. Brolin, CPA, CFE, noted that DocuWare for Invoice Processing eliminates one of the top five fraud risks Ms. Brolin identified – false invoicing. DocuWare’s invoice processing workflow automatically checks for duplicate invoices and determines if a vendor is already in the system. If not, the solution initiates an automated vendor onboarding process. These checks help eliminate fraudulent invoices and vendors.

The value of DocuWare for Invoice Processing was recognized by the staff of accounting firms that serve small and mid-sized businesses. One CPA commented that she wished all her clients used DocuWare. She recognized the advantages the solution delivers in terms of increased transparency, cost savings, and audit and reporting capabilities. She said DocuWare for Invoice Processing would improve her clients’ business processes -- and make her job easier, too.
