Smooth and Easy Upgrade to DocuWare Platform
New Windsor NY, February 23, 2016 – DocuWare, a global leader in the ECM industry, today announces that the DocuWare Migration Helper will be available to Fortis customers with the release of DocuWare 6.9. The Migration Helper enables these customers to automate their upgrade to the new, advanced DocuWare platform. The development of this new platform is a result of a two-year joint development project that integrated the best Fortis features into DocuWare.
The DocuWare Migration Helper is a user-friendly utility that brings system settings, documents and metadata from Fortis to DocuWare. The click of a “Copy to DocuWare” button imports documents without alteration, preserving index data and annotations. Automating the mapping of documents and data from Fortis to create the components of an equivalent DocuWare system ensures that the upgrade will be smooth and takes place without business interruption.

If a customer wants to try DocuWare using documents from their current system, they can sign up for a DocuWare Cloud trial system and set up a test system there to better understand the process,” said DocuWare President Jürgen Biffar. “The DocuWare Migration Helper makes it easier for everyone; our customers, Partners or Professional Services team; to migrate from Fortis to this outstanding combined platform,” he explained.
