Have you come across the term artificial intelligence quotient (AIQ)? It reflects an organization’s readiness and ability to successfully deploy and maximize the value of AI. DocuWare’s AI Hub demonstrates our dedication to the continuous improvement of our company’s AIQ. The Hub brings our AI research and development resources together in a centralized, collaborative team. This group includes product managers, software developers, quality assurance staff and a partnership with the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence.
The goal of the AI Hub
The DocuWare AI Hub initiative is led by talented developers and AI engineers who will oversee the rapid development of exclusive AI solutions for intelligent document processing and enterprise content management.
The team will concentrate on:
- Building foundational technology: Creating and maintaining essential AI models, such as Large Language Models (LLMs) and domain-specific models that meet strict security and compliance standards.
- Developing AI-based product features: Crafting products with clear interfaces (like REST APIs) to incorporate additional AI-powered capabilities into DocuWare software, guaranteeing they are future-ready and user-friendly.
The role of ethical AI
- Accuracy and reliability: Our AI tech delivers precise results and lets you know when there is any uncertainty.
- Security: Our AI solutions are protected from external threats, stop data breaches and handle sensitive information securely.
- Data protection and compliance: Our AI adheres to legal standards and protects data privacy. Data is only shared with user approval.
- Transparency: Our AI makes its results and decisions easy to understand. Any AI-generated content is clearly marked, and all AI interactions are transparent to everyone involved.
- Focus on the human element: Our AI is designed to support people and provide real value. It enhances the work of our employees and customers by meeting their needs effectively.
What’s on the horizon?
A large language model (LLM) is an artificial intelligence (AI) program that can understand and generate human language. It uses machine learning (ML) to learn from previously processed documents and data without programming. LLMs are trained using neural networks, a specialized branch of ML that applies layers of algorithms and natural language processing (NLP) to text. LLMs are groundbreaking AI systems that can process unstructured human language on a large scale, facilitating natural communication between humans and computers.
Dr Berger explains that building proprietary LLM technology enables DocuWare to deliver higher quality AI tools. He also points out that LLMs created for specific use cases rather than general applications are smaller and work more efficiently.
“Looking ahead, our focus is on finding new ways to leverage our models to provide you with actionable understanding and extraction,” Dr. Berger explains. “Our AI will help you better understand your business and the processes that drive it—faster and more deeply than ever before.”
