DocuWare: Rapid Expansion of Cloud Solutions for Document Management

Customers Benefit from Cloud and Data Platform Microsoft Azure

Germering, November 16, 2017 – Across manufacturing, retail, finance and other industries—more than 1,200 customers have opted for DocuWare’s cloud-based software as a service (SaaS) model—and that number is accelerating. With Microsoft Azure as its cloud infrastructure, DocuWare empowers its customers with document management and workflow automation services built for future-readiness.

Cloud is an increasingly attractive choice for DocuWare customers. At the end of 2016, 555 companies were using DocuWare Cloud—but by the end of October in 2017, this number doubled. If trends continue, this will triple by the beginning of 2018.

At Microsoft’s recent Partner Conference with the motto "Smart World. Designed Together." in Leipzig, Germany, Hermann Schäfer, DocuWare’s Vice President Sales DACH, presented the company`s cloud success story to nearly 400 partner companies of Microsoft.

In 2012, DocuWare launched DocuWare Online, its first true SaaS and public cloud solution. Now called DocuWare Cloud, it provides feature parity with the company’s on-premises solution. DocuWare’s global customer base requires high availability and scalability for business continuity, which made the proven Microsoft Azure cloud platform the obvious choice to support the multitenant architecture of DocuWare Cloud.

Gregor Bieler, General Manager of the One Commercial Partner Organization at Microsoft, Germany, explains: "DocuWare Cloud customers benefit from the high availability and scalability of Microsoft Azure. Microsoft`s partners make a significant contribution to fulfilling the individual wishes and needs of our customers. Especially the specialization of our partners in sectors, solutions and technologies which is crucial for a successful and progressive digitization."

Less than a decade later DocuWare CEO Jürgen Biffar sees his company's strategy confirmed: "With the introduction of our web client in 2008, we laid the foundation for a true cloud solution. Despite early market skepticism, the cloud is now embraced by companies of all sizes, including the mid-sized businesses that make up our core. Businesses increasingly appreciate significantly lower entry and operating costs for digitizing their offices."
