Expectations Far Exceeded

Germering, October 12, 2017 – DocuWare, a leading developer of document management and workflow automation solutions, closed the quarter ending September 30 with growth of 30 percent over the same period last year (January – September). The primary driver of this success was the volume of new cloud customers. The company’s cloud growth continues to accelerate, with 26 percent more cloud customers after nine months than in the whole of 2016.

Through the first three quarters of this year, DocuWare generated global revenues of 36 million euros. Compared with the first nine months of last year, this represents an increase of 30 percent. This growth is further evidence of DocuWare’s recognized solution value and product leadership in document management and workflow automation.

This explosive growth was evenly shared across the world. By the end of the third quarter, DocuWare generated 48 percent of sales in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa), while the North and Latin American markets contributed 52 percent. Particularly noteworthy is the growth in Europe: the United Kingdom grew 86 percent, France grew 66 percent and Germany grew 49 percent.

46 Percent of New Customers Choose DocuWare Cloud in 2017

Increasingly, companies across all industries are opting for the cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) model. DocuWare Cloud provides the same functionality as the on-premises version, with the benefits of low entry/operating costs and a high degree of flexibility and scalability. From January to September 2017, 46 percent of all new customers opted for DocuWare Cloud. At reporting time, 39,000 active cloud users are processing approximately 40 million documents online.

DocuWare wants to further accelerate its profitable growth path as it continues to rely on their rapidly growing cloud segment for the future. DocuWare's Managing Director Jürgen Biffar confirmed this strategy, stating: "We are particularly pleased that the barriers to enter a digital office environment continue to decline.” The proof is in the statistics; for the period September 30, 2015 to September 30, 2017, the number of DocuWare cloud customers has grown 400 percent.
