Customer Appreciation Week 2018 – DocuWare Cloud Enhances Didlake’s Document Scanning Services

Written by Nicole Smajda | Jun 4, 2018

DocuWare’s first annual Customer Appreciation Week is here! While we know July 19 is the next official Get to Know Your Customer Day, we couldn’t wait to show our appreciation – and why leave it to just one day? Each day this week, we will be honoring one customer. Visit our Modern Digital Business blog daily to read each DocuWare success story and see photos of the festivities. Follow all the celebrations on social media at #DocuWareCustomerWeek.

Didlake, Inc. is a mission-driven nonprofit organization
that creates opportunities to enrich the lives of people
with disabilities. Their diverse workforce provides business services for over 35 federal, state, and local contracts in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington D.C. Among their employment, rehabilitation, and wide range of business function services, their Document Scanning Services department aids businesses in the document management journey to digital-first offices.

A few years ago, Didlake saw the increased need for bringing digital business transformation to their customers – this was an opportunity to expand its scanning and digitization services and create new employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Didlake has expertise in this area with over 20 years of experience tracing its roots back to microfilm and transforming their 50-year-old paper-based office environment to an efficient digital workplace. Another motivating factor was a 2012 U.S. Presidential directive to federal agencies, the prime arena of Didlake’s customers, to be more efficient and cut down on printing documents. Didlake wanted a solution that could allow them to store their customers’ scanned documents in the cloud, allowing for remote document access. Their team scans upwards of tens of thousands of documents per customer. Additionally, their solution requirements were: user-friendly for their employees, flexible enough to support their internal initiatives, and be the right fit for customers’ needs.

After working with a consultant and researching multiple vendors, Didlake saw a DocuWare Cloud demo and was impressed with the Smart Connect, Intelligent Indexing, and DocuWare Mobile features. The solution met all of their requirements and also was the most cost-effective solution. It was the best fit for their expanding Document Scanning Services team and internal needs as well.

Didlake is implementing DocuWare into its business processes and has demonstrated DocuWare Cloud to their business customers. Feedback has been positive all around, and all users are excited to get started. With DocuWare in place, Didlake will further its mission of enriching the lives of people with disabilities, provide top-notch document scanning services, and position customers for digital office success.

Didlake's scanning services team supervisor, Candie, happily receives the organization's
Customer Appreciation Week certificate, presented by Andrew Port of DocuWare.  He also stopped by to present the team with a nice catered lunch from Panera.
